Impact factors

چکیده
In this paper we discuss sensitivity of forecasts with respect to the information set considered in prediction; a sensitivity measure called impact factor, IF, is defined. This notion is specialized to the case of VAR processes integrated of order 0, 1 and 2. For stationary VARs this measure corresponds to the sum of the impulse response coefficients. For integrated VAR systems, the IF has a direct interpretation in terms of long-run forecasts. Various applications of this concept are reviewed; they include questions of policy effectiveness and of forecast uncertainty due to data revisions. A unified approach to inference on the IF is given, showing under what circumstances standard asymptotic inference can be conducted also in systems integrated of order 1 and 2. It is shown how the results reported here can be used to calculate similar sensitivity measures for models with a simultaneity structure. r 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. Environmental Impact Assessment of Coal Washing Plant (Alborz- Sharghi –Iran)
This paper utilises the modified Folchi method to assess the environmental impact of coal washing plant, Alborz Sharghi, North-east Iran. In this study, the number of factors designed in the method was slightly modified by focusing on the environmental impact of coal washing operations. In addition, few other factors were designed and added to the previous factors. Then, twenty-one values of en...

Not only in Iran, but throughout the world, banks and banking industry are considered as very important parts of the economy. This study seeks to investigate the impact of the internal characteristics of banks, the structure of the banking industry and the economic situation of Iran on the profitability of the banking system of Iran by exploring the theory of the Structuralism school concerning...
متن کاملMeasuring the Impact of Non-economic Exogenous Factors on Industrial Energy Demand in Iran
This paper tries to demonstrate the importance of non-economic exogenous factors (Underlying Energy Demand Trend) when we estimate the industrial energy demand for Iran. The Structural Time Series Model (STSM) approach is used to model these unobservable factors. The Kalman filter and Maximum Likelihood methods allow us to estimate the value of the UEDT. This approach enables us to obtain more ...

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric method for estimation of production function. In DEA, each decision making unit (DMU) has a number of input and output and deals with performance evaluation of DMUs using frontier efficiency. Each one of the inputs and outputs plays a basic role in the performance evaluation of DMU which they can be named as direct impact factor. Inputs and ou...
